A Union Minister on 7 February, 2009 said that India wanted the total elimination of the militant people belonging to the proscribed organizations in Sri Lanka and the protection of innocent civilians. This is the reply of the Government to the email sent to her Excellency the President of India on the previous day.
In this connection, it is pertinent to state that India had supported the proscribed organization in the initial stages. Later, India reversed this policy. The leaders associated with the former decision must be distinguished from those responsible for the latter decision.
The Union Government now said that about 200 contractors were doing the highway works in India. The Government should have spread the work among, at least, 20,000 contractors all over India.
One more man in India died due to self immolation on 7 February, 2009. Some people think that India would notice their self sacrifice and reverse its policy.
The public sector Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on 8 February, 2009 said that the total premium collection during 2009 -2010 would be Re.3 lakh crore.
A man in Malaysia committed self immolation on 9 February, 2009. He might have done this because of his conviction that the world failed to do justice to the Tamils.
The Union Government on 10 February, 2009 decided to borrow Re.46,000 crore from the market.
In this connection, it must be noted that the Union Government is not utilizing the money rotting in the Provident Fund and Pension Fund. The people do not know the reason for it. Did the Government divert the money? The people simply refuse to accept the fact that their leaders had taken a decision to hand over this money to two boys. The Government shall not exploit the ignorance of the people. It must consider them as human beings and do justice to them in this matter.
The Supreme Court on 10 February, 2009 said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was acting at the behest of the Union Government. Anyone going through this work would tell that the Supreme Court was acting at the behest of the manipulation mafia.
On 12 February, 2009 India wanted a political solution to the problem of Tamils within an undivided Sri Lanka.
In this connection, it must be noted that Sri Lanka was the first country to unofficially recognize its Tamil region as a separate nation. Accordingly, it did not recruit the Tamils of this region in its armed forces since its independence.
Then India followed suit. In fact, India gave military training to the innocent boys in this region and compelled them to use force against their Government. Indian leaders took this decision without any debate in India. Perhaps, they considered this as their duty to the nation. Most of those who got the training fell to Indian weapons. The rest remains proscribed. But those who decided to give the training still rule India! These are the dark truths about the undivided Sri Lanka.
England on 13 February, 2009 decided to send a special envoy to Sri Lanka to find out a political solution. However, the Sri Lankan Cabinet rejected the proposal on the next day. The Cabinet requested England to refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of Sri Lanka. This conveyed the message that the UK wanted to grant sovereignty to the Tamil region. Otherwise, Sri Lanka would have allowed the visit.
A man on 14 February, 2009 committed self immolation before the UN office at Geneva. He might have done this because of the feeling that the UN did not do justice to the Tamils.
A representative of the USA visited India on 16 February, 2009. He did not utter a word regarding the plight of Sri Lankan Tamils. Apparently, some secret diplomacy is going on to solve the Tamils issue.
The leader of the opposition on 17 February, 2009 commended the long services of the present Union Minister for Finance. This could be construed as a signal to make him the next Prime Minister of India. Evidently, the opposition party is biased in favour of the ruling party! This party does not even pretend to fight the coming election.
It must be noted that the above minister has not uttered a word regarding the existence of this work. Obviously, the system is poised to make a manipulator as the next ruler.
The Government on 17 February, 2009 directed the Company Law Board to remove all directors from the Board of Maytas Infra Company - a sister company of Satyam – in public interest. This gives the impression that the Government is wrecking vengeance upon Satyam because its CEO called himself a fraud. The reason for this conclusion is that others do not come forward to part with the illegally acquired assets.
Sri Lanka on 17 February, 2009 requested the USA to use its influence over the Tamil rebels in Sri Lanka to set free the civilians. This also shows that the USA is viewing the killings of children by a sovereign nation as an unjust one.
Kosovo celebrated the first year of its independence from Serbia on 17 February, 2009. The world is a dynamic one and new countries do appear in the world.
India on 18 February, 2009 said that it would agree to a political solution to the Tamils problem under an undivided Sri Lanka only.
The wording of the above statement gave the impression that some countries wanted India to agree to a sovereign Tamil nation. A categorical statement from India is needed to confirm or reject this conclusion. However, India need not oppose such an eventuality. There is no reason why other countries should not do as they pleased, so long as they act in the best interest of humanity.
Some political leaders met Her Excellency the President of India on 18 February, 2009 and requested her to seek the intervention of the UN to solve the problem of Tamils.
One more man in India, on 18 February, 2009, committed self immolation. He said that he was not educated enough to express his feelings. He considered this as the reason for his self immolation. On the next day, he died.
Sri Lanka on 19 February, 2009 said that the army had slowed down its war against the rebels in deference to the wishes of some countries. But for these countries, Sri Lanka would have run over the entire area by this time. Sri Lanka now fears that it has lost the war due to the inhuman killings.
Now, several political leaders met the consul of the USA at Chennai requesting the intervention of the USA to protect the Tamils. This is consistent with this work. As the media did not give the details, it is not clear whether they requested the USA to grant freedom to them or not.
Due to some reasons, the police on 20 February, 2009 entered the Madras High Court in large numbers. In the violence that ensued, 64 advocates and a judge were seriously injured. Some police personnel were also injured. A police station was torched. The police damaged hundreds of vehicles and windows and doors of the court. Such incidents might happen in all big countries due to one reason or other. However, the root cause of the above incident was the denial of freedom in India. The immediate cause was the plight of Tamils in Sri Lanka.
As the Government does not allow the words to pass free, many people in India want the Tamils to suffer like this. But, as the advocates are faster than others to distinguish between good and bad, they could not bear the injustice meted out to the Tamils for over 40 years. By denying FREEDOM the Government prepared the fuel. A small spark was sufficient to set it on fire.
However, one cannot put the entire blame on India or Indian leaders. This is because, even if one or two important countries had recognized the Tamil region as a sovereign nation, Sri Lanka would not have got the critical energy badly needed to kill its own children in such a large scale.
Incidentally, this work is in the hands of the Madras High Court. Yet it did not give freedom to the people.
One more man in India on 21 February, 2009 committed self immolation and died. The people do this because the Government does not allow anyone to impart knowledge to such people.
Army killed two people in the Jammu and Kashmir State on 21 February, 2009.
The Government of India on 21 February, 2009 granted permission to the Satyam Board to sell Satyam by auction. A thing worth for, say, Re. 1000 crore cannot be sold for Re.100 crore just because there were no takers. Mr. Raju, the former CEO of Satyam, alone knows its true value and the Government shall not abdicate its responsibility of running it. As the democracy in India remains as a show, the President alone could prevent the Government from perpetuating another injustice.
The Union Government on 21 February, 2009 requested the proscribed organization in Sri Lanka to come for talks within the framework of the Sri Lankan constitution. The Government might have said this due to intense international pressure. However, it is a bold decision because it is equivalent to lifting the ban on the rebels. It is a welcome development in the face of altered circumstance. A just solution might do India immeasurable good as the refugees would go back. This is the reason why Plato said that “the rule of guardians shall be flexible intelligence unbound by precedent”. India is now showing a little flexibility. However, India could go one or two jumps ahead of others because other countries might declare the Tamil region as a sovereign nation, if the killings continued like this.
The Tamil Nadu State Government on 22 February 2009 requested the permission of the Government of India to send its doctors to treat about 10000 people wounded in Sri Lankan bombing. No sovereign Government has any right to kill its own children by denying treatment. Medical teams must be sent without any delay as human rights recognizes no borders.
Even if the human beings were considered as animals, justice must be done. This is what the sages say. Thousands of years ago the sages envisaged that man might consider man as an animal. Anyone could experience it now. It is the time for Her Excellency the President of India to recall the meaning of the words of the sages.
The facts from 7 February 2009 to 22 February, 2009 are being sent to Her Excellency the President of India on 23 February, 2009.

A BURNING HOUSE

A Tamil TV channel on 23 January, 2009 said that Germany favoured a political settlement in Sri Lanka.
Her Excellency the President of India, in her Republic Day address to the nation on 25 January, 2009, reiterated that the fruits of development must reach the remotest corner of India. She added that the richness of a few could not be at the cost of depriving others of their due. Among other things, she used the word “perseverance”. The media did not report her speech in full. The Government must have directed the print media to publish the full text of her speech on the next day.
A sitting judge of the Supreme Court explained the virtues of FREEDOM in a half page article in The Hindu newspaper on 26 January, 2009. He is using his FREEDOM to deny the same to others. Apparently, he is a representative of the manipulators in the Supreme Court because the newspapers are publishing his work and not the work of others.
The new Satyam Board postponed its Board meeting slated for 26 January, 2009 to 27 January, 2009. This indicated that the email sent to Her Excellency the President of India on 23 January, 2009 did some wonders. Obviously, the President of India, based on the email, might have asked the Government not to commit any breach of trust while handling the Satyam matter. Thus, she might have done the duty expected by the Constitution of India. Some Cabinet Ministers and some Judges also might have stood by the President.
Accordingly, a member of the Satyam Board, after the Board meeting on 27 January, 2009, ruled out the possibility selling Satyam in whole or parts, as such a decision would be contrary to the mandate given by the Government. Another member openly asked everyone to refrain from poaching Satyam or its business. A Union Minister also said that the priority of the Government was stabilizing Satyam. A company that was poaching for the Satyam threatened to take corporate action against the new stand of the Government. Six others also came to the open to corner Satyam citing various principles.
Mr. Barrak Obama, the new President of the USA on 27 January, 2009 said that time had come for the USA to listen to the views of others.
The Income Tax Department, on 27 January, 2009 started an independent probe into Satyam.
Government of India on 27 January, 2007 sent a train load of tanks to Sri Lanka to crush the Tamil rebels. Some Tamil TV channels reported this on the same day. In the evening, a Union Minister went to Sri Lanka at the instance of some coalition partners. This is consistent with the policy of India to give food and water to the Tamils with one hand and bullets through another hand.
It must be noted that the Government repeatedly, in the recent past, said that it did not supply any arms to Sri Lanka. Instead, it must have picked up courage and frankly said that India was giving military help to Sri Lanka partly to achieve its objectives and partly to fulfill the wishes of an external force. Then the people would have understood the position of India. Now, the Government tells one thing to the people and does another thing secretly. An individual might do this. But a nation need not do this.
Two soldiers and two militant men died in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) State on 28 January, 2009 in two separate shootouts.
The Union Cabinet on 28 January, 2009 affected a small reduction in the price of petrol but decided not to deregulate its distribution.
The Government shall not maintain any truck with oil marketing companies because of their private character. The talk about oil bond and back arrears are out and out unconstitutional. All people all over India must have equal right to buy and sell petrol so long the oil companies possess any private character.
In this connection, it may be recalled that a newspaper on 30 June, 2006 disclosed that the Ministry of Petroleum had been functioning as a lubricant for party finances.
Further, the King of Travancore would expect the Union Government to give this right to his subjects.
A 26 year old man in India died of self immolation in the cause of Sri Lankan Tamils on 29 January, 2009. A few others also attempted it. The people do not know that the fire that kills the Tamils originate from an external source. They put the blame on Indian leaders and put an end to their life.
The public sector Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India on 29 January, 2009 decided to spend Re.40,000 crore before March 2009 to buy shares.
The President of India must restrain the LIC from investing money arbitrarily in shares.
Had the Government, and therefore the LIC, spent Re. 5000 crore or $1 billion for buying the shares of Satyam company at an appropriate time, the Foreign Institutional Investors and others might have taken the market capitalization of Satyam to about Re,150,000 crore or $ 30 billion in 2008. But the Government did not do so. One would say that the LIC would not put the money in a sinking company. It is an unconstitutional argument because the companies with strong fundamentals do not require money from the LIC or Government. The fact that they lean on the Government shows that they grew due to the Government and Satyam fell because of the absence of support from it. The LIC shall not discriminate between company and company and must put the money in the order of the weakest to the strongest based on well defined rules. Rules, among other things, must recognize the suggestions presented earlier in this work. However, the present decision of the LIC shows that hundreds of letters are not making any difference to the infallibility of the system. Therefore, it is the duty of the President to seek the opinion of the Supreme Court, once again, to put an end to this for good.
The Hindu newspaper on 30 January, 2009 described the Present Prime Minister of India as an “honest and decent” man. It said that he would not “bat for any unscrupulous voice”. It even depicted him as “the symbol of decency in public life”. They used this method to make him the Prime Minister of India. Now they are repeating the same.
In this connection, it must be noted that those wielding the real power in India covered up all illegalities committed by the previous Government. Then they wanted to privatize all Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). They succeeded in privatizing two very important PSUs and selling the shares of many others. They could corner spectrum and ores. Similarly, they could corner distribution licenses for gas and petrol. They could take unethical profit and quickly transfer it to other countries. They wanted the amalgamation of banks but failed. They contemplated to take the entire money rotting in the Provident Fund and Pension Fund but, apparently, failed. They could extract a huge amount through stock exchange and divert the money to different places but remained restless when a boy from Chennai removed Re.800 crore.
The present Prime Minister of India could function as their mask because he said that his intention was to bring shipload of money from other countries. Everyone close to him, including the judges of Supreme Court, believed him. But he could not allow Satyam to bring even a truck load of money from other countries. This might have shocked him. He could rule India and not his inner self. He knew that the present writer opposes him only because he represents an evil force.
Anyone going through this work would agree that the present Prime Minister has been sleeping in a burning house. He must be rescued from the present condition.
Now the manipulation mafia has started to flatter him again. They knew that the next mandate would go to the silent flatterers.
The USA, for the first time, on 30 January, 2009 expressed its concern over the situation in Sri Lanka.
In this connection, it must be noted that many countries have been demanding the civilian population in Sri Lanka to move to the safe zone, lest Sri Lanka would kill them. The UN also said this. Even some political parties in India, wedded to the Tamils cause, advised the Tamils to escape. The people, however, refused to desert the rebels. In fact, there was no distinction between the rebels and the people. After noticing this resistance, the USA is expressing its concern. It gives the impression that the USA is distinguishing between the good and the bad. If the USA were ready change its mind in this matter, the world would follow suit.
The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India on 30 January, 2009 requested the President of India to remove one of his colleagues from office. This is not the duty of the CEC.
The Election Commission (EC) comprises three members including the ECE.
The Government must allow FREE speech to secure a peaceful change. But, it is not doing this. Such Governments –Spinoza says- “would plot against the enemy in time of war, so they do against the citizen in time of peace”. Therefore, it is the duty of the CEC to publish this work at the rate of two chapters per day so that the people would get at least 15 days to make up their mind, lest the coming election would be constitutionally null and void.
A retail company with about 1600 stores on 30 January, 2009 wanted the Government to give Re.300 crore to run it. It said that the lenders were not ready to help it. It is customary for the small companies to vanish silently. But this company asserts itself. No listed companies shall collapse on its own. The Government must take over such companies and return them to the owners later based on well defined rules. All vanished companies also must be traced.
The militant people killed 15 police personnel in the Maharastra State on 1 February, 2009. The reason is not known to anyone. None in India condemned it. Several newspapers and the TV channels did not report it. The people would accept any Government that works with the intention of solving their problem. The reason why the Indians kill Indians must be probed. The Government must change all its unconstitutional policies to put an end to these killings.
The Government on 2 February, 2009 disclosed that only 3 out of 61 Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) road projects had been awarded till December, 2008. It is an indication of the change in the policy of the Government. Her Excellency the President of India might have done the expected duty in this matter based on the email dated 23-1-2009. The Government could utilize its surplus money for this.
Now the auto industry is seeking the help of the Government to save millions of jobs in India. Such companies must be taken over by the Government in the Satyam model. The Government could return the companies to them as and when they want them back, lest the people would think that the system cut the throat of Satyam as a result of a conspiracy.
A Member of Parliament on 3 February, 2009 said that the Government did not bring to light his complaint against Satyam in 2002 for a manipulation of about Re. 25 crore.
The Supreme Court (SC) on 4 February, 2009 allowed the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to interrogate the former CEO of Satyam.
In this connection, it must be stated that the SEBI allowed the sister company of a big company to extract a huge amount of money from the public in 2008. The net asset value of the company was practically zero. The Government concealed this work to boost its value. The financial institutions refrained from buying the shares. Within one or two months its share price fell sharply. All investors all over India perished. The SEBI did not prosecute the promoters. It did not even question them. The money has not been recovered till date. Therefore, the enquiry by the SEBI would not inspire public confidence.
Further, Satyam is a software company worthy of adulation for so many reasons. But the entire system wanted to cut its throat. The only way to save it was to show some profit. Had Mr. Raju not done this, it would have withered in the bud stage. Now all law enforcing agencies want to grill him. It is their duty. But, there are several bigger offenders. Therefore, the system must treat everyone equally.
Furthermore, the SEBI could have asked any question through the aid of the State police. It did not do so. So it might not share the information with the investors. Therefore, the SC could direct the SEBI to share all share sensitive pieces of information with the SC, investors and the public. It is very important because now the offenders are the prosecutors.
The USA and the UK on 4 February, 2009 –in a joint statement- demanded a temporary ‘No Fire’ period in Sri Lanka. They requested both the warring parties to resume discussion immediately. The European Union and Japan followed suit. Now a representative of the UN Secretary General went to Sri Lanka for talks.
A shocked India demanded the rebels to lay down arms.
Though very late, the USA, UK, Germany and the other countries are doing the expected duty. It must be noted that they did not ask the rebels to lay down arms before resuming talks. Now, they could solve the problem. Then the military would be withdrawn from civilian areas and both the parties would remain in their respective places to lead a happy life. The refugees also could go back.
Anyone would agree that the present development is the repercussion of democracy in the USA. Such changes cannot take place in India because the elections are a mere formality and the mandate goes in the hand of static minds.
Sri Lanka on 5 February, 2009 rejected the above joint statement. It rejected the demand for talks with rebels also. However, Sri Lanka, apparently, stopped the firing. This gave the impression that the joint statement was not a formality.
Notwithstanding everything, a man may not do the expected DUTY. Then he is sleeping in a burning house. This is what the sages say. The people, as a rule, considered these as preposterous words. In fact, the mankind has been searching, in vain, for a living example to justify these words of the sages. Now, anyone going through this work would agree that the present Prime Minister of India is a quintessence for this.
The facts from 23 January, 2009 to 6 February 2009 are being sent to Her Excellency the President of India on 7 February, 2009 through email.

NATURAL CHANCES

Three blasts killed five people in the Assam State on 1 January, 2009. The Prime Minister of India condemned it.
Police killed two militant people in the Manipur State on 2 January, 2009.
Two militant people and five soldiers died in two separate shootouts in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) State on 2 January, 2009.
The Union Cabinet met on 2 January, 2009 presumably - among other things - to discuss the email sent on the previous day. The Cabinet granted permission to the State Governments to borrow about Re. 30,000 crore from the public for public investments.
In this connection, it must be stated that the above decision is a remarkable one. It is consistent with this work. It would control flight of capital. However, the State Governments must utilize this good fortune.
Further, the Union Cabinet decided to spend about Re. 25,000 crore for the development of roads.
The Prime Minister of India on 3 January, 2009 exhorted the scientists to create intellectual leaders.
A soldier and four militant people died in a clash in the J&K State on 3 January, 2009.
The website: www. howeverythinghappenedinindia.blogspot.com was updated on 4 January, 2009.
The media on 4 January, 2009 said that the 3G spectrum auction would be delayed further. Any Government that works in public interest would apportion the spectrum among the State Governments. Such a decision would give happiness to the King of the J&K State and contribute to solve the militancy.
Mr. B.Ramalinga Raju, the Chief of the fourth largest information technology company in India –Satyam- on 7 January, 2009 called himself a fraud. He added that he did not extract any money from the stock market except for normal philanthropic purposes in the last seven years.
The circumstances that led to the above disaster are known to Mr. Raju only. However, when all types of illegalities were perpetuated, the share prices depended solely on the touch of the Union Government on the companies. There were no enquires. No proper audit. No supervision. Complaints were concealed. Everything was interpreted as economic policy and, therefore, there was no constitutionalism.
In the above environments, Mr. Raju also started eight other companies. He might have done it to join the big league of less than ten individuals in India. However, unlike his many colleagues in the top 30 Companies of Mumbai stock market, he could not extract enough money through Initial Public Offers (IPOs) in the last seven years. Compounding this, the public sector financial institutions were neglecting Satyam just to weaken its share value.
The unethical increase in the steel price increased the construction cost of the real estate projects of his sister companies. As the real estate market fell in 2008, he could not sell his assets. When he wanted to buy two companies of his sons to account for the fictitious profit of about Re. seven thousand crore of Satyam, the media mafia said that he wanted to divert the money of Satyam to the detriment of the shareholders. Then they published disquieting pieces of information about Satyam. As he was not in possession of spectrum, ores or money in the numbered accounts, there was a possibility for the non payment of salary to his employees from January 2009 onwards. In order to cope with the situation, he, apparently, knocked at the doors of everyone in India and abroad in vain.
He did not want his employees to suffer in any way. He did not want to blame others for his predicament. Therefore, in total desperation, he openly confessed that he committed a fraud by inflating the profit of the company by over Re.7106 crore in seven years just to boost the share price of Satyam and submitted himself to the law of the land.
In a related development, the Union Government in December 2008 asked Andra Pradesh State – according to the newspapers dated 19-1-2009 - to tell the reason for selling 50 acre of land to Mr. Raju at a far lower price than the market value. It is not to say that such questions shall not be raised at all. It is only to say that such questions were not raised against others. Therefore, the Government did not do justice by treating everyone equally. It was like throwing him on the fire from the fry pan. It may be recalled that the Reserve Bank of India had denied permission to the present writer to send about $10,000 to the USA as co-contribution to publish a book.
The Union Government immediately ordered an enquiry into the affairs of eight companies owned by Satyam. Andra Pradesh (AP) State Government followed suit. It is not customary for the Security and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to audit the financial statement of the companies. Yet it too ordered an enquiry. Some US-based law firms filed “class action law suits”. They alleged that Satyam management violated US federal security laws. However, his clients, including Microsoft, Oracle, some companies in Japan and Australia, stood by Mr. Raju.
The Union Government immediately took over the administration of the company in public interest. The quick involvement of the Union Government ensured security of service to over 40,000 employees. Whatever happened in the past, the Government acted commendably and prevented another disaster. All people all over India heaved a sigh of relief.
Now, the Government, as the caretaker of the company, could run it successfully or give it back to Mr. Raju depending upon the assets and liabilities. The act of selling it to others would be a breach of trust. It would be against natural justice and bad in law.
Those who wield power described the statement of Mr. Raju as “corporate cronyism at its crudest”. Had he remained quiet, they would have described him as a gentleman. They knew that they also did the same manipulation in one way or other. Therefore, they wanted his blood. He was subsequently arrested for fraud, breach of trust, falsification of records, forgery, criminal conspiracy, diversion funds and cheating. The court remanded him to police custody for interrogation. In the jail, he was put in a cell along with notorious criminals. The Union Government ordered the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) to probe the issue. Now they want to tear him into pieces.
The Supreme Court on 5 May, 2005 considered companies as juristic persons. However, the cases in India might rescue him and Satyam from the cases in the USA.
Any impartial probe would show that the policies of the Union Government, Mumbai Stock Exchange and the financial institutions were unfairly favourable towards less than ten individuals. In fact, it would show that the system wanted the exuberant growth of less than tan individuals and extinction of all the rest. The present writer has been pointing out this for the last seven years to prevent such disasters. In fact, thousands of small industries daily perish due to high interest rates, current cut and unfair policies of the Government. Now, one of the top thirty companies has been affected. The prediction that the Re.44000 crore given to two boys would be devastating in all directions proved correct. However, the Government would say that it did not commit any mistake. It could escape because those who wield the real power in India are the prosecutors and the final judges!
Sri Lanka on 7 January, 2009 proudly disclosed that it killed 15, 000 rebels in the last two and a half years. The entire world might have noticed the statement.
In this connection, it must be noted that it was the first time a nation proudly disclosed -with the approval of the world - that it killed such a large number of its own people! Even Pol Pot did not talk like this. Sri Lanka believes that it is better than all other countries in this matter. But Sri Lanka became the worse due to this disaster. If it were allowed to continue like this, another 1,50,000 people would die in its hands in the next ten years.
Bentham firmly says that the man must strive to bring about the greatest happiness of the greatest number. Therefore, it is the duty of everyone to take a decision that ensures the greatest happiness of the greatest number in Sri Lanka.
Police killed 15 militant people in Chhattisgarh State on 8 January, 2009. It may be reiterated that a change in the mining policy would prevent such disasters. The Government must act in the interest of all.
The Prime Minister of India on 8 January, 2009 said that the Union Government had taken a policy decision to construct highways under public–private partnership. An impartial probe would establish that there exists a conspiracy to convert public assets into private assets in most of the Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) projects. This is the reason why the road works do not result in the creation of new contractors in the vicinity of the people. The case filed in a High Court confirms this.
A blast in Assam State killed three people on 9 January, 2009.
Her Excellency the President of India on 9 January, 2009 said that there must be transparency in the stock market. She wanted equitable distribution of wealth. Her statement is consistent with this work. However, a Tamil TV channel alone reported it. The All India TV channels blacked out her speech. The President of India must see that the public sector All India TV channel does not suppress her speeches.
The Union Government on 9 January, 2009 decided to set up 16 new Central Universities all over India.
The World Bank (WB) barred three Indian software companies, including Satyam, from doing business with it for eight years. The decision had been taken 18 months ago. But the WB chose to publish it now. Another Indian company bagged the contract given to Satyam.
The Karnataka High Court on 12 January, 2009 admitted a letter received from a former Prime Minister of India that alleged a corruption of Re.30,000 crore in the Bangalorwe- Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project.
Now the Union Government disclosed that it would free petrol distribution from its control. This would go down as another decision taken in public interest. Now the people suspect that there exists a conspiracy in this matter. The profit unethically given to the oil companies must be recovered forthwith.
