227. Knowledge- The Most Important Natural Resource

227

KNOWLEDGE - THE MOST IMPORTANT NATURAL RESOURCE

The last mail was submitted to His Excellency the President of India on 3 August 2013. The same mail was sent to the Supreme Court of India, Indian Army and Indian Air Force.   Later, it was sent through post to the President of India and the Chief Justice of India; and posted in the blog www. howeverythinghappenedinindia.blogspot.com

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on 4 August 2013, said that only manufacturing boost would help India.
The present writer used the word “manufacturing” in the last letter emailed to the President of India on 3 August 2013.
Now, he must consider the question of doing something to open all the industries that have been closed during his rule.

Commerce Minister Anand Sharma, on 5 August 2013, disclosed in Parliament that India had trade deficit with 80 nations. Exports in 2012-2013 stood at US$ 300.3 billion while imports aggregated to US$ 491.9 billion. China, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia topped the list.
One reason for this is that the nation does not collect even 10 per cent of the revenue from the minerals exported.
The private parties say that the government is unable to exploit the minerals. So they fulfil the needs of the political leaders and take the money- usually by over invoicing or under invoicing.

The percentage of minorities recruited in government and public sector banks decreased from 10.8 per cent in 2010-2011 to 6.24 per cent in 2011-2012. Minority Affairs Minister K. Rahman Khan announced it in the Upper House on 5 August 2013.
One reason for this is the abolition of Banking Service Recruitment Commission.
Incidentally, this shows that the rulers - Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Mr. A.K. Antony and Mr. Farook Abdulla - are mere onlookers. They have no freedom to cross even this line.
The people must know this. But they have no Liberty to know this.

Citing the judgement of the Supreme Court in D.S. Nakara and others Vs Union of India, a Mr. P. Frederic Engels- a Secondary Grade teacher from the Tamil Nadu state had challenged the New Pension Scheme at the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court. The New Indian Express reported this on 5 August 2013 in its inner page.
The writ petition shows that knowledge is the most important natural resource that should not be nationalized.
Naturally, the above petition should have been the headline news of all newspapers and the TV channels. But the people have no Liberty to know this.
Now, even 0.1 per cent of the people are not aware of it.

Sri Lanka, on 5 August 2013, launched a China funded Mega Container Terminal.
Tamil Nadu State must study the possibility of making Colachel a Mega Container Terminal.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha, on 6 August 2013, wanted the Union Government to use coercive diplomacy like embargo to stop the continuing attack against Indian fishermen by Sri Lanka.
Immediately, India asked Sri Lanka – through a demarche - to release the Indian fishermen.  However, the latter slighted India by extending their remand.

The Supreme Court of India, on 7 August 2013, asked the government to tell the reason why action was not taken on the so-called Niira Radia tapes. The court said that the tapes had serious matters like cross border transactions. It hinted that the tapes indicated the presence of middle men in every department of the government.
The observation - that middle men in every department- should have appeared as headline news. But, one or two newspapers published it superficially. Here also, the people have no Liberty to know this. In fact, even 0.1 per cent of the people are not aware of it.
China said that India was under an elite group. The present writer called them the recipients of the PF. The Supreme Court now describes them as middle men. After all, it is a journey to discover the truth.
If the people have the Liberty to know the above, they would assess the judges in one way. If there is no Liberty, they would assess them in a different way.

Mr. Raghuram Rajan will be the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) from September 2013. He has been the chief economic adviser of the government.
He was “selected” as adviser to the government in 2008.
He should have advised the government to use all public savings for public purposes.
Instead he- apparently, wanted to hand over Re.3 lakh crore in the Provident Fund (PF) to private parties.
He should have at least asked the government to use the money after the expiry of 3 years.
     He did not do so.
Tomorrow, he might hand over the PF perennially to private parties.
The people might forgive the political leaders and not the advisers.
Therefore, it is against public interest to appoint him as the Governor of the RBI.

The Union Government, on 8 August 2013, deferred a decision to sell 11.36 per cent shares of the public sector National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPCL).
The decision is consistent with the last letter.

Union Minister Narayanaswamy, on 9 August 2014, said that there was no use in fighting for the Sri Lankan Tamil refugees; and the Indian fishermen crossing the international maritime boundary.
Union Minister Suderson Nachiyappan asked the Indian fishermen not go into their traditional areas for fishing.
India could solve this problem. But something must be sacrificed.
It must be noted that in a fatal shooting, Philippines killed a Taiwanese fisherman – in May 2013- while illegally fishing in its exclusive economic zone.
Taiwan dropped sanctions against Philippines. The latter, finally, apologised to Taiwan publicly. For this an envoy of Philippines President Benigno S. Aquino went to Taiwan. This happened two days ago.
Besides giving compensation, Philippines finally agreed to prosecute and sentence 8-men for homicide to the fullest extent of Law.
Sri Lanka has killed 580 Indian fishermen.
India could take a decision to avoid Sri Lankan air space for 24 hours. After that, the flight facilities of Sri Lankan aircraft over India could be cancelled.
This is purely a temporary measure to fathom the resolve of Sri Lanka to kill or detain Indian fishermen.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on 9 August 2013, in skull cap of Muslims embraced actor Raza Murad on Ed–ul-fitr. The newspapers gave wide publicity to it.
Former Prime Minister Vajpayee had done like this before the abolition of the Banking Service Recruitment Commission.
Mr. Chouhan is a different person. He knew the number of students entering the IITs from his state. He must examine whether a state wise reservation of seats would benefit his state or not; and act accordingly. This would go down as a real service to Muslims.

After a gap of about 20 days, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi appeared in a big public meeting at Hyderabad on 11 August 2013.
The TV channels gave great publicity all over India. Thus, they anointed him as the next leader of India.
If he is really kind, he might have given Liberty before imposing himself as an all India leader.
    Mahatma Gandhi did the same.
Will not the people - going through this work- consider the images present in the Indian currency notes as a symbol of shame?

    This is letter No. 227.
The Chief Justice of India knows that many important events are being suppressed from the eye of the people. He must see that the effectiveness of the judicial system to protect the rights of the people is not eroded.
He could grant freedom to the people before the so-called Independence Day that falls on 15 August 2013.
Let not the Independence Day take away the independence of the people to know this work.

The facts from 3 August 2013 to 11 August 2013 are being submitted to His Excellency the President of India on 12 August 2013.
The same letter is being sent to the Chief Justice of India and the Chiefs of the Indian Army and Indian Air Force for necessary action.
