Mr. NARENDRA MODI - A
GRACIOUS PRIME MINISTER?
The last mail was submitted to His Excellency the President of India, Prime Minister of India, Chief Justice of India, Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) on 28 June 2014. Later, it was posted in the blog www. howeverythinghappenedinindia.blogspot.com
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated a two-day workshop for over 162 newly- elected MPs of the BJP on 28 June 2014. On that occasion he said,
“Our transition from
opposition to treasury benches is not limited to moving of few seats to the
other side. This is a significant transition and we must try to appreciate the
meaning of this.
To be a Member of Parliament is an important thing and one
must look at it seriously. Remember, people are observing your performance not
only in the House but even outside.
Try to make new friends, learn from each other and develop
a new collectivism.
You should not be disillusioned over small issues as there
is no full stop in politics.
You must develop a sense of mission towards your duties and
study in order to have deeper understanding of various subjects.
Above all you should not voice your differences in public.
Remember that we are a family and all are working for a common goal”.
The
ISRO launched its PSLV-23 rocket
carrying five foreign satellites at Sri
Karikotta on 29 June 2014. After witnessing this, Prime Minister Mr. Modi lauded the scientists. He said
that the programme was cost effective and indigenous. He requested the
scientists to launch a rocket for the benefit of the SAARC nations so that the borders would disappear. He urged them to
become the launch service provider of the world. He exhorted them to help the
government to meet its foreign policy objectives.
Finally,
he commended Dr. K. Radhakrisnan for
his leadership.
The
ISRO had been leading the prime
ministers. For the first time, it appears that Prime Minister Mr. Modi is leading it.
The Central Bureau of Investigation, (CBI)
questioned Mr. M.K. Narayanan,
Governor of West Bengal, in connection with the allegations of bribery in the
chopper deal with the Anglo-Italian company, Agusta-Westland. The newspapers reported this on 29 June 2014.
Imports of defence equipment and
others must be based on laws that define the priorities such as technical
parameters, strategic relationship, remittances. For instance, if other things
are equal, the remittances must gain importance.
The Hindu, on 29 June 2014, said that Mr. Arun Jaitely, Union Minister for
Finance, had advised Prime Minister Mr.
Modi to exclude Mr. Gopal Subramanium
-mentioned in the last letter- from the list submitted by the Supreme Court of
India for appointment as judges.
What prompted Mr.
Arun Jaitely to act like this is not known. Even if he had done it due to
the divine inspiration of Sree
Padmanabhaswamy at Trivandrum, he deserves special recognition.
Vice
President of India Mr. Hamid Ansari
and his Chinese counterpart Li Yuanchao,
on 30 June 2014, signed three MoUs at
Beijing. One is for flood data of Brahmaputra
River. Another one is for interaction between the officials to learn from
each other’s best practices. The third one is for mutual investments on the
basis of equality.
In
the light of this work, the government must tell the advantages and
disadvantages that accrued to India as a result of the indiscriminate imports
from China.
Now
the media says that the present MoU would control the trade imbalance. Actually, it would continue to swell as
before although there are better ways to curtail it.
There
is no question of equality because China alone has money. Therefore, the MoU paves the way for the Chinese takeover
of India.
The
MoU belongs to the manipulators
because they can invest the undisclosed proceeds from the minerals in that
country. Besides, China gives money to them in various ways to enslave India.
They
now impose this MoU upon the people
because the new prime minister would describe this as a something done in “national
interest”.
Therefore,
the government must show this work to the people, if it wants to go ahead with
the MoU.
The Reliance Industries Limited
(RIL), on 6 July 2014, served an arbitration notice on the Union Government
for gas price.
If
there is a “common goal”, the government must take over all natural resources.
This would give a level playing field to everyone. The opinion of the prime
minister, in this matter, will become a law.
Former
Telecom Minister Mr. A. Raja, on 7 July
2014, told the CBI counsel, Mr.U.U. Lalit,
that Mr.
Ratan Tata and Ms. Niira Radia
together had met him at his residence in New Delhi.
The
media depicted this as an admission of guilt! Is it a crime?
The CBI, on 8 July 2014, told the CBI court that former
Telecom Minister Mr.A. Raja ignored
various authorities including Telecom
Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the Law Ministry and the Prime Minister's
Office.
Should a Union Minister take orders from the
TRAI?
A Union Minister must obey everyone, if there is
anything good for the nation. Otherwise, he need not obey anyone. However, the
Prime Minister has the freedom to drop him from the Cabinet at any time.
The CBI counsel, further, said that Mr. Raja did a favour to the Uniteh Company by advancing the cut off date.
Former
Union Minister for Disinvestments Mr.
Arun Shourie openly challenged the Supreme Court and the government by
saying said that he had telephoned a Public Sector Bank before selling a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) to a
private individual. Evidently, he had done a favour with guilty intention. But
the Supreme Court of India and the government have been protecting him. Now the
courts question Mr. Raja like this!
The
Railway Budget, presented on 8 July 2014, provided for a bullet train from
Mumbai to Ahmadabad. Unless otherwise prevented, the back room players would
prevail upon the government to hand over the work to China. The work, if any,
must go to that country with which the trade imbalance is positive.
England
decided to erect a statue of Mahatma
Gandhi opposite the House of Parliament at London. British Foreign Secretary William Hague
and Chancellor George Osborne
announced it during their visit to India on 8 July 2014.
Anyone going through this work would
say that Mahatma Gandhi handed over
Slavery and not Freedom to Indians. Others might not agree with it. It is not
easy to put sight into blind eye.
In
this connection, it must be brought to the notice of the new prime minister
that this writer had approached the Queen of England for the Freedom of
Indians. She, in turn, informed this fact to all Commonwealth Countries.
Besides, she chose not to declare open the Delhi Commonwealth Games.
If
the people come to know her gracious acts, they would compel the government to
install her statue opposite to the Parliament House at New Delhi.
The
Chief Justice of India, on 10 July 2014, moaned that he had no freedom to buy
a pencil.
But
he has freedom to deny freedom.
Finance
Minister Arun Jaitely, on 10 July
2014, presented the Union Budget for 2014-2015.
Prime
Minister Mr. Modi said that the
Budget would convert the hopes and aspirations of the people into trust. He
described it as a new ray of hope for the poor and downtrodden.
There
was not much for the downtrodden. But it provided for the all round
development.
Re.38,000
crore for highways, Re.11, 635 crore for Outer Harbour Projects, Re.7000 crore
for 100 smart cities, Re.5000 crore for warehouses, Re.2,037 crore for Ganga purification and allocation in small doses for several schemes, for instance,
100 soil testing labs, 5 new IITs, 4 new IIMs, 4 new AIIMS and many sport
academies, 6 textile mega clusters, a
programme for the up-gradation of the skills and training in ancestral
arts, a war memorial for the fallen soldiers and a scheme to preserve the heritage character of some places are a few
points.
There
was no word about privatization or disinvestments! This is consistent with the
Constitution of India. This man predicted this to his friends before starting
this work. Anyone going through the letters would consider this as a reflection
of this work provided the invaded properties are recovered. However, no eye is needed
to see the graciousness of Prime Minister Mr.
Modi and his colleagues in this matter.
To
the discomfiture of the people, Re. 200 crore was allocated for a mega statue
of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel- called Statue of Unity at Gujarat.
The
demand for the statue must have come from the people.
The
government should have honoured his words and deeds before this announcement.
He
had toiled a lot to bring the Princely countries like Travancore under Indian Union. The government later behaved like a
brute and reneged on his assurances. The
pension- called Privy Purse- was unilaterally stopped citing equality principle.
Recently,
the Supreme Court asked the Travancore
royal family to surrender the keys to the Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple vaults at Trivandum without any valid
cause. It has no moral or constitutional right to do so because these are the
functions of the Parliament. The government could have returned the key through
an Act of Parliament to honour him.
There was a suggestion for 49 percent Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in
insurance and in the manufacture of defense equipment.
51 percent from an Indian private party is like
adding a drop of sedative. It will help convert public assets into private
assets. It is illegal. Therefore, there shall be 100 percent FDI. Let anyone
start any industry with or without collaboration. The common goal must be greater employment generation and prosperity.
There
was a talk of reducing the government holding in public sector banks to 51
percent.
The
act of selling the shares to the public must be distinguished from the act of selling them to a few private parties.
This
work shows that the government is free to sell 49 percent of the shares of every
public sector entity on two vital conditions. They are:
1.
There
must be a state wise reservation of shares and
2. No individual shall hold more than
a certain maximum number of shares of any entity.
If
accepted, it will be consistent with Chapter 41. It will be a "new ray of hope" for the North-Eastern region and the entire nation. It is an acid test for the
sincerity of the government.
Thus
the PSUs would not lose its colour, the government would get money and the
investment opportunities of the people would increase.
If
the government had taken the money in the Provident
Fund (PF) and the revenue from the minerals for budgetary purposes, it
could have done a lot more for the amelioration of the sufferings of the 1000
million people. In fact, it could have done wonders.
However, there were more public welfare measures
than those present in all the budgets since the times of Mr. H.D. Deve Gowda put together.
Mr. Arun Jaitely might
have received inputs from the Prime Minister, Union Ministers and many others. He
could have added some more. However, the kind of knowledge attained by him for
budget making is commendable.
This is letter No. 264.
The system continues to impair the reason. Prime
Minister Mr. Modi finds it useful to
him and the nation. Therefore, the present government is as ill-legitimate as
the previous one.
However, he might deliver Freedom at any moment.
For this, he must be as gracious as Her Highness
Queen Elizabeth. Is he?
The
facts from 28 June 2014 to 10 July 2014 are being submitted to His
Excellency the President of India, Prime Minister of India Chief Justice of
India, chiefs of the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force, some High Courts and
Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) on 11 July 2014.
