CHAPTER 144. SLEEP

144

SLEEP

The last mail was submitted to Her Excellency the President of India on 31 May 2010. A meeting of the Union Cabinet ensued on 1 June 2010.
An army officer and his team were indicted for the death of three people in an alleged fake encounter in the Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) State. The Defense Minister gave a promise to take necessary action. The newspapers reported this on 31 May 2010.
There will be always some public discontent in a nation. However, the Union Government, consistent with the letter No.1 dated 1-6-200, could:
1. Split the public sector financial institutions like the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), banks and give them to the State Governments.
2. Allow all State Governments to exploit their natural resources like the spectrum.
3. Allow the State Governments to maintain separate foreign exchange account.
Some private individuals are enjoying all the above. The only difference is that the State Governments would use this for public welfare.
If the Government were ready to implement the above three points today, the armed forces could be withdrawn from many parts of India tomorrow. Then the armed forces would concentrate on the security of India. Naturally, such accusations would cease to exist.
There are reports that the Queen of England would not come to India to declare open the Commonwealth Games in December 2010. This is presumably because India does not give FREEDOM to Indians.
The Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said that he had no power to investigate any case against an officer of a rank of a Joint Secretary and above. Thus, he says that the Union Ministers are corrupt.
However, if the Supreme Court (SC) had asked him to dilute the $400 million plus 1500 kg gold case to $4 million case, the SC is an institution that must be destroyed. On the other hand, if the CBI had failed to take the case to the SC for suitable orders, the CBI is a threat to the stability of India.
The Union Government received about $15 billion for the 3G spectrum. Some companies, including two public sector companies, apportioned it among themselves through the so-called auction. This is against the spirit of the 7 May 2010 judgment of the SC. Evidently; the Government committed contempt of court.
India decided not to send the Indian cricket team to China for the coming Asian Games. The real reason has not been disclosed.
On 1 May 2010, the leader of the Congress party, the Prime Minister of India and some Union Ministers appeared in the public sector TV channel to present the report card of the present UPA Government.
On the above occasion, the Prime Minister said that that he would fight terror, root and branch. It is customary for him to sow the seeds of ambition on his leader. Now he is giving a new hope to her.
The Defense Minister on 1 May 2010 met the Service Chiefs. He discussed the pros and cons of committing the armed forces in the operation against the militant people.
Israel said that the world failed to notice the killings taking place in India and some other countries. Perhaps, the world thinks that the Indians are animals.
A report said that about 1680 civilians, 990 security personnel and 1440 militant people were killed in India in past five years.
It is not easy to narrate the reasons for the killings. However, it must be recalled that an Indian company wanted to buy some assets in S. Korea. The people in S. Korea opposed it. The Indian company agreed to arrange some assets in India for the Korean companies as reciprocation. Accordingly, the Indian company directed the Union Government to permit the POSCO to explore the iron ores in India.
As one or two leaders were situated in a mode of ignorance, they became a prey to the schemes of the Indian company and agreed to follow the path shown by it. Accordingly, the POSCO was granted permission to take the ores of iron from the Orissa State. Thus the opposition in S. Korea subsided. It was mentioned in Chapter 54.
However, the people in India have been apposing the Korean companies. This is destabilizing the Indian companies in Korea and other countries.
The present Government could have –based on this work- changed the policy long ago. But one or two leaders either directed the Government to crush the agitations of the people or ignored the operations of the paramilitary forces against them. As a result, thousands of people are being killed. The Government blacked out the intensity of their agitations and the rest of the Indians came to know about their struggle only when mass killings occurred.
Evidently, the people die because the Indian companies succeeded in trapping one or two leaders.
Who is responsible for the killings? Until today, the present writer did not fix the responsibility on any one person. Instead, the present writer has been putting the blame on the President to the Supreme Court, Congress leaders to the Union Cabinet and manipulators to the media. As such the present writer could have done a little more to minimize the killings.
As in the case Sri Lankan Tamils, it must be clearly stated that the bullet that kills the people originates specifically from the mind of the leader possessing the mandate of the people. This is because that leader alone could put an end to the killings in India single handedly.
As in the case of the Air India, the leader is free to follow any one of the following three paths.
1. Going on killing people for money using police or armed forces.
2. Taking over all natural assets for public welfare and settle the residual problems through talks.
3. Ignoring the matter.
In order to follow the second path, it may be necessary to change the Prime Minister. Alternatively, the leader could openly ask the Prime Minister to take over all natural resources.
If the leader decided to opt for the second path, the credit for the action might come to this writer. This is because political parties and other individuals are not demanding the Government to take over all natural resources. However, so long as this work remains as a secret matter, the entire credit for this good decision would go to that leader only.
In order to choose the correct path, it is essential that the leader must be free from darkness born of ignorance.
A leader of a Left party demanded the recovery of revenue lost in the 2G spectrum allocation. He put the loss at $42 billion. The Hindu reported this on 2 May 2010. The profit from 2G spectrum alone is sufficient to maintain the armed forces and the paramilitary forces in India. Actually, the Government gave $1 trillion to a few individuals. This would have to be recovered. Therefore, the media would not press for this in a sustained way.
The Home Minister on 2 May 2010 deplored that in some places there were no police stations. He directed the State Governments to immediately double the strength of their police. It must be noted that he helps transmit $220 billion per year to less than ten people. With which money the State Governments will meet the salaries? He alone knows the answer.
The boy leader of the Congress party secretly came to Chennai on 2 May 2010.The public sector Tamil TV channel reported this.
The contribution of the above leader to nation building - for all practical purposes - is a negative one till today. What he would do tomorrow is not known. The Government must tell how he became dearer to it than the people like the present writer. It must be noted that the media is not reporting the whereabouts of even the Prime Minister of India.
The people said that the public sector National TV channel asked the cricket commentators to while away 40 minutes from 7.20 P.M. after a match yesterday. At the same time, it is not getting any time to inform to the people the names of the people like the present writer. The Government must tell the reason for this.
These things happen because the SC is not weighing the good and the bad with the same balance. For this the Chief Justice of India should not be vulnerable to changing fortunes and to political threats. He must open his eyes to enforce FREEDOM of expression.
It is said that a man situated in the mode of darkness, born of ignorance, relapses into sleep.
The facts from 31 May 2010 to 3 June 2010 are being submitted to Her Excellency the President of India on 4 June 2010.
