AN ALTERNATIVE
The Union Revenue Secretary, Mr. S. Das, on 12 November 2014, said
that the tax department was planning to track down evasion in an unintrusive
manner in sectors prone to the generation of black money. He agreed that over
invoicing and under-invoicing of imports/exports impact the collection of
custom duties.
The act of checking the revenue cannot
be construed as intrusion.
It is clear that the system does
not effectively supervise exports/imports and the method of remittances.
The system could have monitored the
movement of ships through satellites and then cross-checked the remittances. It
did not do so.
Further, the Wikileaks had given some other sources of black money. It had given
the method of remitting the money at the banks in Switzerland.
However, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is conspicuously silent about the Wikileaks. This shows that the system is reeling in
the hand of the holders of black money.
Mrs.
Sonia Gandhi
and Mr. Rahul Gandhi appeared at a
public meeting in New Delhi on 13 November 2014.
The Wikileaks had indicated Re. 56800 crore and Re. 158000 crore
respectively against their names.
The amounts mentioned are not
reasonable. However, if one or two accounts are correct, the rest must be
correct.
If the accounts are false, why do
the political leaders refuse to give enough land to any others to drive a pin?
Further, there is documentary
evidence against some people at the Supreme Court of India.
Yet they are not detained? Then,
why did the system arrest chief ministers?
Everything shows that the act of holding
black money is easy.
Further, the holders of black money
become leaders and rulers.
Many believe that there is no way
to escape from the present predicament.
However, as the government is a
group of persons organized for the well being of the people, it is the duty of
the Supreme Court of India to make an alternative arrangement till the recovery
of black money.
