INDIA:
MAKING UNLAWFUL POLITICAL GAIN?
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, on 14 November 2014, told the fellow leaders of
the G20 at a Retreat in Brisbane in
Australia that the process of reform would face resistance. He opined that it
must be insulated from political pressure. He said that it must be a people
driven one and not a government driven one. He added that it cannot be
undertaken by “stealth”.
Evidently, but for this work, he
would have started the process of alienating the public assets as soon as assuming
power.
On the same day, Mr. Modi said that the black money posed
economic and security challenges.
Yet, he had requested the Supreme
Court of India to help conceal the names of the account holders!
Addressing the leaders of the G20,
on 15 November 2014, he said that the repatriation of the black money kept
abroad was a priority for his government.
The action must be taken in India more
than in other countries.
Congress leader Mr.Rahul Gandhi, on 14 November 2014,
visited the sterilization centre at Bilaspur
in Chhattisgarh and consoled the
victims. 13 out of 83 women had died at a government run mass sterilization
camp allegedly due to the presence of traces of rat poison in the medicine
administered to them.
If he keeps black money at any
foreign country, his sorrow is an unfelt one. Shakespeare says that false men do it easy.
A general secretary of the Congress
Party, Mr. Digvijaya Singh, on 14
November 2014, said that Prime Minister Mr.
Modi had cheated the people on the black money issue.
He uses a hard word against the prime
minister. The people all over India watch it.
Wikileaks had mentioned Re. 28900 crore
against his name! Whether this piece of information is true, half true or false,
he should have agreed to cooperate with the government to withdraw the money,
if any, before talking like this.
Former Union Minister Mr. P. Chithambaram, described the Armed Forces (Special Powers Act) as an
obnoxious one. The media reported this on 15 November 2014.
The
Wikileaks had put his black money at
Re. 15040 crore. Without denouncing it, he talks to the people!
It is clear that the holders of
black money alone are calmly making unlawful political gain. The Constitution
of India does not condescend to it.
