Your Excellency

Chancellor of Germany Mr. Friedrich Merz paid a visit to India on 12 January 2026. Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi welcomed him at Ahmadabad in Gujarat. They signed some agreements including one to deepen defence co-operation.

US Envoy –Designate to India Mr. Sergio Gor, on 13 January 2026, said, “No other country is as essential to the United States as India.”

President of the USA Mr. Donald Trump, on 13 January 2016, said, “Any country having trade ties with Tehran (Iran) would face a 25% tariff if it seeks to do business with the USA.”

President of the USA Mr. Donald Trump, on 13 January 2026, said, “The USA needs Greenland for the purpose of national security. NATO should be leading the way for us to get it. The alliance becomes far more formidable and effective with the territory under US control. It is vital for the Golden Dome (the proposed missile system).”

Protests erupted against the USA in Venezuela on 15 January 2026. The crowd wanted the release of Mr. Nicolas Maduro.

President of USA Mr. Donald Trump, on 15 January 2026, accused the Iranian Government of killing hundreds of protestors. He said, “Help is coming. All meetings with Iran cancelled. Iran will pay a big price. Keep protesting Iranian patriots. Take over your institutions.”

Iran said that foreign forces incited deadly riots in the country.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatolah Ali Khamenei blamed the demonstrators for causing thousands of deaths.

Exiled crown prince wanted the world to help Iranian protestors.

Finance Minister of Iran said, “We are ready for talks, but also for war.”

Finance Minister of Turkey said, “Iran and the US must talk.”

The European Union designated Iranian army as a terrorist organization.

Iran described it as illegal.

Officials of Denmark, on 15 January 2026, discussed the Greenland issue with their counterparts in the USA.

President Mr. Donald Trump said, “Denmark cannot protect Greenland, only US can. The USA would impose new tariff on countries opposed to Greenland takeover.”

Next day, Denmark rejected claims about Chinese influence on Greenland.

Former US Secretary of State Mr. Antony Blinken, on 16 January 2026 said, “The minerals, the other wealth that is there, all we have to do is ask. They are very happy to do deals, trade and investment deals.   We don’t need to do an imperial deal to take over the place. So this would be a big mistake because we can get what we need and what we want by doing it co-operatively, not by taking over the place. It would obviously, gut our relationship with one of our best allies, Denmark, that’s been with us in Iraq and Afghanistan after 9/11.

If he is talking about us buying Greenland, the problem is Denmark can’t sell it. Greenland does not want to be sold. At least the politicians tell us that.”

Posting on the Truth Social, Mr. Trump said, “NATO has been telling Denmark, for 20 years, that you have to get the Russian threat away from Greenland. Unfortunately, Denmark has been unable to do anything about it. Now, it is time and it will be done.”

Eight European nations - Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Finland and the Netherlands –issued a joint statement on 18 January 2026. They said, “Tariff threats undermine relations and risk dangerous downward spiral. We are ready to engage in dialogue based on principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

According to a report on 16 January 2026, the National Medical Commission of India rescinded the recognition granted to Shri. Mata Vaishno Devi Medical Institute (SMVDMI) located in Reasi, a remote mountainous district in Jammu & Kashmir, within a year of granting recognition. The reason was that there were 42 Muslim students among the 50 admitted.

Hundreds of Catholic institutions in North India offer 90% of the seats to Hindus and others. It is uncharitable on the part of Prime Minister of India Mr. Narenda Modi to close down a Medical College like this.

The USA, on 15 January 2026, placed a list of 75 countries under indefinite freeze on visa processing with effect from 21 January. The pause does not apply to temporary tourist or business travel visas. The USA did not include India in the list. It said that the move was aimed at tightening screening and preventing abuse of public benefit systems.

President of USA Mr. Donald Trump, on 15 January 2026, announced the formation of “Gaza Board of Peace”. Thus, the Gaza Peace Plan moved to Phase -II.

President Mr. Trump said, “It is my great honour to announce that “THE BOARD OF PEACE” has been formed. I can say with certainty that it is the Greatest and Most Prestigious Board ever assembled at any time, any place.” However, Israel has not fully withdrawn its armed forces from Gaza.

Hamas welcomed the formation of administrative committee under Phase – II

Next day, President Mr. Trump invited India to join Gaza Board of Peace. He said, “Now it is time to turn all these “Dreams” into reality. At the heart of the plan is The Board of Peace, the most impressive and consequential Board ever assembled, which will be established as a new international Organization and Transitional Governing Administration. Once the Board is formed, we can do pretty much whatever we want to do. And we will do it in conjunction with the United Nations. UN’s great potential has not been fully realized.”

India said, “India is considering various aspects as the initiative involves sensitive issues. We are examining the invite.”

However, at the UN Security Council (UNSC), India’s permanent representative to the UN Parvathaneni Harish said, “India takes note of the recent progress with regard to the implementation UN Security Council Resolution 2803 to end the Gaza conflict.  India also takes this opportunity to express appreciation to the United States in addressing this long standing issue.

We have been supporting the formation of a sovereign, independent, and viable state of Palestine -living in peace with Israel.”

The Board of Peace will serve as the central strategic body overseeing Gaza’s post-war transition chaired by Trump himself. It is expected to focus on governance capacity-building, regional relations, reconstruction investment mobilization and large-scale funding.

The permanent membership fee is $1 billion. Russia offered to pay $1 billion from the Russian assets frozen by former President of the USA Mr. Joe Biden.

Twenty-six of the 62 invited countries signed the board’s charter. The Board of Peace designated them as founding members. Russia, China, India, Germany, Italy and France are conspicuous by their absence. Germany and Italy expressed their reluctance to join it in its current form.

The Hindu, on 17 January 2025, came out with an editorial titled “India’s interests can be secured only by the assertion of its strategic autonomy.”

Development is the key to strategic autonomy.

India made huge public investments through 5-year plans in the first 25years after independence. Next 25 years went without huge public investments due to the pull from the back room players. The political leaders lost their freedom of action in the last 25 years. As a result, the back- room players usurp the big Public Sector Undertakings. They spread the profits from them all over the world. They do not allow the Government to make large-scale public investments in ports, airports, railways and natural assets.

The political leaders must come forward to use their political power to restore all alienated public assets and make large-scale public investments as in China for rapid development.

A Supreme Court of India bench, on 22 January 2026, led by Chief Justice Surya Kant declined to frame a national one-size-fits-all Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for managing crowds at political rallies, religious events and large public gatherings. He added that crowd management and public safety protocols fall within the domain of executive authorities and local law enforcement.

Thus, it is the SOP of the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court of India changes the Constitution of India in the pretext of its amendments, appoints illegal judges, plunders public assets and denies freedom and liberty. It washes its hands from these grave felonies. Now, it is commendable that it holds the executive and the law enforcement agencies responsible for public safety. It does not wash its hands in this matter.

The USA, on 26 January 2026, deferred the H-1B visa stamping to 2027. Hundreds of H-1B visa holders are stranded in India.

Apparently, it is the repercussion of the Howdy- Modi mega event at the NRG stadium in Houston held on September 22, 2019.

European Commission President Ms.Ursulavon der  Leyen and European Council President  Mr. Antonio Costa attended as chief guests at India’s 77th Republic Day parade on 26 January 2026 at New Delhi.

Next day, they signed India- European Union Free Trade agreement (India-EUFTA). Ratification by EU member-state could take another year. It was the culmination of two decades of talks. Ms. Von der Leyen said, “A successful India makes the world more stable, prosperous and secure. We are all benefitted.” Mr. Antonio Costa said, “It is the most ambitious deal ever concluded in the world.

They described the agreement as the mother of all deals.

It was India’s trade deal ever. The deal provided for the movement of Indian talents and skilled workers towards Europe. European automobiles and wines will flow to India at a cheaper rate.

The USA discards Indian talents. It refuses visas to Indian students. It does not ameliorate the sufferings of stranded H-1B visa holders. Therefore, India shifts in such a way to annul the effects of these constraints.

President of USA Mr. Donald Trump said, “We sacrificed more, and you chose India.”

US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said, “It looks like the EU is doubling down on globalization when US is trying to fix some problems of globalization here in the USA.”

The USA should have lifted the tariffs against India, made India –US relations an unconditional one and captured Indian market. Instead, it chooses to isolate itself from 1400 million people. It is advantage for China and the EU. China is even grabbing students from the IITs with both hands.

UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres said, “At the present moment, there are two poles –one centred in the US and one centred in China. If we want a stable world, if we want a world in which peace can be sustained, in which development can be generalized, and in which, in the end, our values will prevail, we need to support multi-polarity. We need to support a dense set of relations with different countries. And I see with a lot of positive expectations, recent trade agreements: You had the EU with Mercosur. You had EU with Indonesia.  You had Canada with China. You had UK with China. You have EU with India.”

Russia, on 28 January 2026, halted its military operation against Ukraine and invited President of Ukraine Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskyy for talks.

Gold prices increased sharply in January 2026 in the international market. What India could buy with $700 billion today could have been bought with $650 billion one month ago. India lost about $50 billion in one month.

Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi, on 29 January 2026, declared in the Indian Parliament, “India’s democracy is a beacon of hope for the world. India is emerging as a ray of hope for the world. In this temple of democracy, India has the opportunity to send a message of strength, commitment to democracy, and respect for decision taken through democratic process – messages welcomed and accepted globally.”

He changes the Constitution of India in the pretext of its amendments, appoints illegal judges, plunders public assets and denies freedom and liberty to Indians after giving them food and water.

This happens because the opposition parties play a complementary role to him to float as political leaders. The main opposition party alienated Mumbai and Delhi airports. The smaller parties also alienate airports, sea ports and others as in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Therefore, they are not ready to expose him politically. So long as they wash their hands like this and take key political decisions at the behest of the backroom players, he can go on talking like this.
